About ROS Guangzhou
An open technical community for robotics developers.
ROS Guangzhou is an open technical community connecting developers, researchers and founders working on robotics, autonomous driving, AI perception and embodied AI in and around Guangzhou.
Built on ROS / ROS 2 (Robot Operating System), the community runs online discussion and offline events to promote knowledge sharing, open-source collaboration and engineering practice — so that more robotics developers can build real connections within the same city.
1. Vision
Connect robotics developers in Guangzhou, and advance technical exchange and innovation.
ROS has become essential infrastructure for robotics worldwide, yet local developers in many cities remain weakly connected. ROS Guangzhou aims to build a long-term, open, technology-driven community where robotics developers can:
- Share experience
- Exchange technical ideas
- Showcase projects
- Find collaboration opportunities
Making Guangzhou one of the most active cities for robotics exchange.
2. Positioning
A developer-driven technical community focused on the practice and exchange of robotics technology.
Topics we cover:
Robotics Software
Robotics Algorithms
Robotic Systems
Developer Ecosystem
3. Who joins
The community is open to anyone interested in robotics technology, including:
- ROS / ROS 2 developers
- Robotics algorithm engineers
- Autonomous driving engineers
- AI / CV / SLAM researchers
- Robotics founders
- University students and researchers
- Open-source robotics contributors
Whether you are just getting started or have years of experience, you are welcome.
4. Activities
To support technical exchange, ROS Guangzhou plans several formats:
- Tech TalksCommunity members share ROS development experience, robot system architecture, SLAM / CV / AI algorithm practice and open-source robot projects.
- Developer MeetupsRegular offline gatherings: ROS developer meetups, robotics technical exchanges, project demos and discussion.
- Hackathons / WorkshopsHands-on practice that builds collaboration: ROS development workshops, robot system build-outs, open-source robotics hackathons and joint project work.
Open-source collaboration
We encourage members to contribute to:
5. Manifesto
"Robotics is essential infrastructure for the future, and developers are the core force driving that future." — this is the community's basic premise and the starting point for how we organize. We encourage openness, practice, open-source spirit and long-term commitment.
